Dalhousie Sanitary Replacement Project - Update

The District of Oak Bay is committed to providing updates regarding the Dalhousie Sanitary Replacement Project. Construction began in May 2023 with significant progress to-date, and work anticipated in the early stages of 2024. 

Progress 

As of December 2023, there have been significant milestones regarding the Sanitary Sewer System. All 640 meters of sanitary pipes and 12 manholes have been installed, and 30 of 40 sanitary sewer connections complete. 

Progress continues on the storm drain replacement work. 248 metres of storm drainpipes and seven manholes have been installed, with connections currently in progress. 

What’s Next? 

Additional work is anticipated in the New Year, including completion of all surface improvements for the 2400 block of Dalhousie and surface restoration between Cadboro Bay Rd and Eastdowne Rd.

Funding for this project includes funds from the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF), formerly the Federal Gas Tax Fund. The CCBF provides predictable, long-term, and stable funding to local governments in B.C. for investment in infrastructure and capacity building projects.
