Underground Oil Storage Tanks

In 1998 the Oak Bay Fire Department conducted a review of all records that indicated the presence of existing underground oil storage tanks (UST) for residential properties in Oak Bay.  At that time our records indicated that approximately 1800 USTs existed.

We recommend that you contact the Oak Bay Fire Department at 250-592-9121 if you have questions regarding underground oil storage tanks  for a specific property.

The CRD has created a helpful document that highlights what you need to know about maintenance, spill response and insurance.
