Preschool and Children's Programs


Oak Bay Parks, Recreation and Culture offers a variety of programs for preschool, for children and for youth. These programs vary from weekly lessons, one-day classes, or registered programs. If you’re interested in arts, sports, music, dance, engineering, parent and tot classes, or youth programs, we have something for you!
Oak Bay Families’ Resource Program
A Free Community Drop-in
This drop-in program is for caregivers and babies and toddlers up to five years to enjoy free play, snack and activities with each other.
Drop-in space is limited so arrive on time to not be disappointed.
Fridays, 10:00–11:30am (Does not run on Pro-D Days, Stat holidays or Spring and Summer Break). Starts September 29, 2023.
Located in the Rainforest Room at the Neighbourhood Learning Centre, 2121 Cadboro Bay Rd (attached to Oak Bay High School).
In partnership with Fernwood NRG and the Provincial Government of BC.
Join our leaders for an exciting hour of adventure in the gym with climbing toys, tot cars, floor hockey sticks and soft soccer balls plus a variety of other colourful sports equipment, playhouses, multiple slides, stacking cubes, the bouncy castle, music, and toys, along with circle time to end the session! Parent participation is required.
The program is for ages 18 months-five years.
Registered programs run on Tuesday and Thursdays for one hour sessions between 9:00-11:15am. Please register online for this program.
Online sign-up is available 24 hours in advance.
• Up to 10 spaces are available per session.
• Mobile, participating siblings must pay admissions.
• Children must be supervised by their caregivers for this program.
