VOLUNTEER BOARD AND COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS

Oak Bay Municipal Council welcomes expressions of interest from residents who wish to volunteer their time as members of the following Council appointed committees, which currently have vacancies.

Appointments are to fill mid-term vacancies for the remainder of two year terms ending December 31, 2015 and may be renewed for additional terms.

Active Transportation Advisory Committee

The role of this committee is to advise Municipal Council on matters pertaining to identifying, planning and implementing active transportation opportunities in the Municipality, taking into account the Active Transportation study, along with considering financial impacts, economic viability and social implications.

Environmental Advisory Committee

This advisory committee is tasked with advancing environmental sustainability through recommendations to Municipal Council on legislation, regulation, tools, education, and strategic policies that support effective environmental management practices, with financial impacts, economic viability and social implications also being considered.

Residents interested in serving on the above noted committees should submit letters to the undersigned, including any pertinent information that may assist Council in making the appointments, by 4:30 pm on Monday, June 16, 2014.
