 VOLUNTEER BOARD AND COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
BOARD OF VARIANCE

Oak Bay Municipal Council welcomes expressions of interest from residents who wish to volunteer their time as a member of the Oak Bay Board of Variance.

Appointments are for a term of three years each and may be renewed for additional terms.

The Board of Variance is a three-person, quasi-judicial body established pursuant to the Local Government Act and appointed by the Municipal Council.  The work of the Board requires strong analytical and reasoning skills to consider applications to vary the provisions of the Zoning Bylaw, to make structural alterations to a building containing a lawful non-conforming use, or to grant relief from a requirement contained in the Tree Protection Bylaw.

Residents interested in serving on the above noted board should submit letters to the undersigned, including any pertinent information that may assist Council in making the appointments, by 4:30 pm on Wednesday, September 16, 2015.
