For Public Works or Parks after-hours urgent issues (such as a broken water line or a tree on the road) call 250-592-9121 evenings and weekends.  We will then contact municipal crews who can respond to provide assistance. The Oak Bay Fire Department can be reached 24 hours a day.

The Fire department is staffed on a 24 hour, 7 day a week basis by four rotating 6 person fire suppression crews.

The Fire Prevention Division is staffed Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

The Fire Chief is the Department Head; the office of the Fire Chief is supported by one administrative position. The office is staffed Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

The Emergency Program is managed through the Oak Bay Fire Department; the Fire Chief is designated as the Emergency Program Coordinator. The Emergency Program office is located at the Oak Bay Fire Department and is staffed Monday through Thursday 9:00 am - 1:30 pm.

The Fire Department is also the after-hours Public Works and Parks dispatch for emergencies such as flooding from a broken water line, a serious sewer leak or miscellaneous services such as municipal trees down across a public road or path.
