Uplands Park Bird Walk
Uplands Park • Meet in the main parking lot in front of the nature kiosks at Cattle Point at 8am
Join Geoffrey Newell on his next bird walk. We will search for our winter resident species, including loons, grebes, seaducks, gulls, shorebirds, alcids, owls, finches, sparrows and a variety of other passerines while covering the leafless version of the park's lovely Garry Oak meadows.
Did you know the Oak Bay waterfront and adjacent islands are home to the largest winter shorebird population on Vancouver Island? Most numerous are Black-bellied Plover, Black Turnstone, Surfbird and Dunlin.
