‘I’ve not always been Canadian’ Display by the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (part of Arts & Culture Days)
Foyer at Oak Bay Municipal Hall
A Travelling Exhibition On The Evolving Canadian Identity.
“I’ve Not Always Been Canadian” was a project by the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria where newcomers and established immigrants/refugees were invited to share their stories of what it means to belong and to fully embrace a Canadian identity. This project was facilitated by Artistic Director and Storyteller Lina de Guevara with photo-journalism by Quinton Gordon. As part of Canada’s 150 year celebrations, their goal was to facilitate a deeper understanding of our community’s cultural, ethnic and religious diversity.
This event is part Oak Bay Arts & Culture Days, August, 2019.
