What motivated you to become a trainer
Fitness has been my passion for more than 40 years. I became a trainer to share my strong belief that fitness, health and quality of life go hand in hand.
Training Philosophy:
Exercise and fitness combined with a healthy and balanced diet and proper nutrition are essential to achieving maximum benefits. The way to a healthier body is to change some habits that keep you from attaining your full potential – by eating right for your body and including regular effective exercise into your life. A regular exercise program leads to better health and an improved sense of well-being. I believe exercise should be enjoyable and fun and never a chore. We always feel better after we exercise!
I bring enthusiasm and motivation to each person’s unique needs.
Specialties:
I love introducing fitness and health into people’s lives. It’s very rewarding to motivate people to exercise regularly and see an increase in their energy and enjoyment of life. I like to work on the core muscles because a strong core can be an important element in improving posture, strength and balance.

I have been an active runner, swimmer, cyclist and aerobics participant since starting intensive regular fitness programs at the Halifax YMCA in the 1970s. I currently teach strength training using weights as part of the Fit and Fab program. I also teach the Weight Room orientation course and I enjoy working with special populations.
