Dog Licences
All dogs over the age of four months must be licenced every year with the District of Oak Bay. Reduced fees are in place for spayed/neutered dogs. Dog licences and further information is available at Oak Bay Municipal Hall or the dog licensing page.
Oak Bay sends out Licence Renewals each year in January, when pet tags must be renewed. Please remember to notify the municipality of any changes in contact information, or if there is no longer a pet in the household.

Dog Waste
Dog waste can contribute to the spread of disease and produces a noxious environment. All dog feces must be picked up and disposed of by the dog owner.
Do not allow dog feces to enter the storm drains, as this can lead to contamination of local beaches with serious health implications.

What are Windsor Park’s off-leash hours?
Dogs are welcome on leash at any time. Per the Animal Control Bylaw, off-leash hours are sunrise to 11:00 a.m. from September through June and sunrise to 9:00 a.m. during July and August.
Are dogs of all sizes welcome at the park?
Yes. Dogs of all sizes are welcome in the park, provided they remain under the control of their human.
Why was a Tiny Paws Area created?
The Tiny Paws Area was created as a new option to give smaller dogs and their owners a space that may feel more comfortable for play and socialization.
Is there a weight or size limit for the Tiny Paws Area?
No. The area is intended for smaller dogs and relies on the courtesy and judgement of park users.
Can small dogs use the Paws of All Sizes Area?
Yes. Small dogs are welcome throughout the off-leash area. The Tiny Paws Area simply provides an option for those who prefer a smaller area.
