Vote By Mail

All eligible electors in the District of Oak Bay have the option to vote by mail ballot in the 2026 General Local Government Election.

Voting By Mail


  • An application must be completed to obtain a mail ballot.  If you require assistance to complete your application, contact Oak Bay Election Staff at 250-370-7208.

  • You may request that the mail ballot package be mailed to you or picked up between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM at Oak Bay Municipal Hall.  If you select the option to pick-up your mail ballot package, the District will notify you when it is ready.  Be prepared to show one piece of photo ID when you arrive.

  • You may designate a person to pick up your mail ballot package on your behalf.  Upon arrival, the designated pick-up person must sign a declaration and provide two pieces of ID (as required by the declaration).

Completed mail ballot packages may be returned via the following methods:

1. By mail to Oak Bay Municipal Hall at the following mailing address:

2. In-person to Municipal Hall during regular business hours or via the external drop box, located at the Oak Bay Avenue entrance to the Hall.
3. In-person at a voting location during an advance voting opportunity (October 7 and 14) or on General Election Day (October 17).

Mail ballot applications will be accepted until 4:30 PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

To be counted, your ballot must be received by the Chief Election Officer at either Oak Bay Municipal Hall or a Voting Location by 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2026. It is the responsibility of the elector to ensure that this deadline is met.
