General local elections in B.C. are held every four years on the third Saturday in October.
The next general local election will be held on October 17, 2026.
This is your opportunity to help shape the future of our community by voting for:
- One (1) Mayor
- Six (6) Councillors
- One (1) School Trustee (New for 2026! School District 61 has implemented an “electoral area trustee” model.)
There will be multiple voting opportunities for the 2026 General Local Election as follows:
- Advance Voting Day 1: Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Monterey Recreation Centre, 1442 Monterey Avenue from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Advance Voting Day 2: Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Monterey Recreation Centre, 1442 Monterey Avenue from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- General Voting Day: Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the following two locations from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.:
- Monterey Recreation Centre, 1442 Monterey Avenue – Garry Oak Room; or
- Henderson Recreation Centre, 2291 Cedar Hill X Road
- Mail Ballots: Voting by mail is available to all qualified electors. Our website will be regularly updated with more information.
