The Oak Bay Police Department has been serving the community since 1906, helping make Oak Bay one of Canada’s safest places.
The department has about 30 staff, including police officers and support staff.
Governance
The Police Department is constituted pursuant to the provincial acts and regulations such as the British Columbia Police Act, and operates under the direction of the Oak Bay Police Board. Staff primarily provide community policing, with external investigative services provided through memorandums of understanding with other police departments.
