2026 Arts Alive Sculptures Arriving for 10 Year Anniversary

Oak Bay’s beloved Arts Alive Sculpture Exhibition is celebrating its 10th Anniversary with ten new artworks being installed, inviting Oak Bay residents to rediscover wonder in familiar corners of the community.

This year’s sculptures will be installed across Oak Bay starting in May, replacing last year’s sculptures. Seasoned sculptors in this year’s exhibition include Serge Mozhnevsky, Bill Frymire, Steve Milroy, Tonya Hart, Erick James, Robert Turriff and Louis Marc Simard as well as emerging artists Tim Kent, Larry Sherman and Laurel Dinney.

Arts Alive has hosted over 90 artworks in its 10 years, turning Oak Bay into a coastal gallery where bronze, steel, stone, and imagination mingle with ocean breezes and Garry Oak tree canopies. 18 permanent sculptures from past exhibitions continue to be featured, a testament to the community’s commitment to public art.

Arts Alive grew from former Arts Laureate Barbara Adams’ vision for art as a beacon to draw people together, encouraging stories, conversation and connection. Countless volunteers, business sponsors, supporters and residents have shaped the exhibition into a program recognized far beyond Vancouver Island.

Arts Alive officially kicks off on July 16 with the Opening Celebration and Tour, inviting seasoned aficionados and curious newcomers to wander, wonder, and discover the joy of encountering art.
