At approximately, 11:30 p.m. on October 29, 2026 there was a large watermain break on Newport Avenue between Windsor Road and Transit Road. The District has activated a Level 1 Emergency Operations Centre to support this incident.
Public Works crews have exposed the break and are in the process of obtaining safe access approval and sourcing replacement parts. The road remains closed between Newport Avenue between Windsor Road and Transit Road.
There are a large number of residents in this area that are without water and the District will provide updated restoration timelines as soon as possible.
