Oak Bay Police Department – Community Survey

8 September 2026

The Oak Bay Police Department (OBPD) has launched a Community Survey and are asking residents of Oak Bay to share their experiences, opinions and perspectives about policing in Oak Bay.

The survey is intended to allow Oak Bay residents to share their opinions about the service provided by the OBPD as well as provide direction for the future.

As the OBPD looks to the future and responds to changes in policing, the Department is seeking resident input on several initiatives, including online reporting, new facilities for Oak Bay’s emergency services, and being more visible in the community at community events and out on patrol.

Randomly selected households throughout Oak Bay will be receiving a letter in the mail asking for them to participate by completing an online survey. As only a sample of residents have been selected (approximately one in four households), OBPD is hoping that those who received the survey invitation will complete the survey. Residents will be asked to fill in a confidential online survey hosted by Malatest.  If you did not received a survey but would like to provide your feedback, you can take the survey at https://www.oakbaypolicesurvey.ca/.
