Oak Bay Night Market
Presented by the Oak Bay Business Improvement Association - 2019 Market Dates: June 12, July 10, August 14 and September 11, 2019
Beginning in June and continuing to September, between 4:00 and 8:00 pm on the second Wednesday of the month, Oak Bay Village is transformed into a European style street market. A wide range of fresh and local produce and food is available. Artists and artisans showcase a variety of wares including wood turned bowls, hand made greeting cards, glass art, paper casting, fabric arts, jewelry, toys, fresh made soaps and cosmetics and preserves. Each market also offers local music, a magician, face painting and balloon animals. The stores of Oak Bay merchants are open with special pricing, tastings, demos, sampling and more.

The Oak Bay Business Improvement Association has confirmed with the District of Oak Bay that the 2019 Summer Market Series is now full, and is no longer taking requests from vendors at this time. For future applications please see below:
Please note that the Oak Bay Business Improvement Association applies for permit, advertises, maintains all vendor applications and is the Event Organizer for this market. The District of Oak Bay grants a Special Event Occupancy Permit for road use, but is not involved with the operations of the market and as such cannot answer questions pertaining to vendor selection, related activity or vendor communications.
The Oak Bay Business Improvement Association (Oak Bay BIA), who run the market is comprised of nearly 100 businesses in the area generally referred to as Oak Bay Village, encompassing the retail sections along Oak Bay Avenue from Monterey Avenue to Foul Bay Road, including adjacent businesses on Hampshire Road, Theatre Lane and Wilmot Place. Applications may be submitted by mail to the Oak Bay Business Improvement Association via their P.O. Box listed on the application form and on their contact and market page found here or delivered in person to the Business Improvement mail drawer situated at the Oak Bay Municipal Hall, 2167 Oak Bay Avenue. Please note that this mail box is positioned at the Municipal Hall for vendor convenience, and that Municipal Staff members cannot answer questions about the market or speak to other BIA activities.
The BIA requests that you please do not submit payment with your application at either the Municipal Hall or via PO Box until such time as you are made aware of your acceptance as a vendor in the Summer Market Series. They request that you please do not call the Oak Bay Municipal Hall about the status of your application, as the District is the permitting authority only, and that all applicants will receive a response. Please note that due to an overwhelming amount of email, inquiries received by the Event Organizers strictly related to questions about space availability will not be answered, but rather if you are interested in the market please do submit an application to the Oak Bay Business Association, and they will contact you directly if you are accepted and a space is available. Applications will close when the market is full and this will be indicated on their website and their Facebook page.
