Move for Health Day 2025

May 10

Join Oak Bay Parks, Recreation and Culture as we celebrate Move for Health Day 2025, an international event by the World Health Organization, on Saturday, May 10! It’s all about promoting healthy, active lifestyles, and we’re thrilled to be part of it. Below are some fun activities in Oak Bay to get you moving:

  • Henderson Recreation Centre:
    • Enjoy a free Art & Story Walk along the chip trail. Take a stroll down the trail again this year, travel from page to page along the chip trail, enjoying local artist and illustrator H. E. Stewart’s award-winning book TreeSong. The forest has its own special beauty, a quiet sense of calm, stillness, and strength. This story tells a life history of one Sitka Spruce tree, home to numerous insects and birds. A perfect Mother’s Day or International Family Day outdoor activity for all ages. (30-60min walk)
    • 2 for 1 Golf admission between 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Oak Bay Recreation Centre:
    • $2 drop-in admission for Swim and Weightroom between 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Monterey Recreation Centre:
