This month’s Friends of Uplands Park bird walk is coming up on Friday, October 30th with a 10:00am start in the main parking lot in front of the nature kiosks at Cattle Point. Fall migration is in full swing and we can expect to find 60+ species during this 2-3 hour bird walk. Rarer species such as Rock Sandpiper, Snow Bunting, Lapland Longspur, Northern Shrike, and White-throated Sparrow are possible. It would also be fitting to find at least one owl just before Halloween. This event normally takes place on the last weekend of each month (Friday, Saturday or Sunday) and has been running for over 16 years now!
