Project Updates

Construction is slated to start on Wednesday, October 1 on McNeill Ave. C-1 Contractors will begin work on the Transit Ave. side of McNeill. Throughout the project, residents will be advised of any impacts to road access.

Starting the week of September 8, you may notice crews from C-1 Contractors on-site making preparations for construction. They will be performing locates along McNeill, setting up a site office trailer at the end of McNeill near Windsor Park and making spray paint marks for construction. 

This is in preparation for construction starting in late September, with a date to provided when more information is available.

On Monday, July 28, Oak Bay Council awarded the contract for the McNeill Utility Replacement and Traffic Calming Project to C-1 Contractors Ltd.

Staff will now work with C-1 Contractors leading up to the anticipated beginning of construction in late-August.

Detailed design is complete and the construction phase of this project is anticipated to begin in August 2025, following contractor procurement through a competitive bidding process. The Invitation to Tender has been posted to BC Bid and the project is scheduled to be awarded in July.

Completion of this project is anticipated for Summer 2026, depending on the contractor’s work schedule.
