As part of Oak Bay’s Pavement Management Program, Island Asphalt Company will be Paving Hampshire Road Friday July 17, 2020.  Crews will work between 6:00am and 5:00pm and the work is expected to be completed on the Friday, provided the weather allows. 

The work will involve grinding along the edges and overlaying the whole road with new asphalt. Residents can expect construction crews and loud grinding noises.

Traffic/Parking Impacts

Hampshire Road will be closed to the general public with access for local traffic only. There will be temporary delays with accessing driveways. Island Asphalt and Public Works staff will communicate with residents during construction to accommodate any specific needs. To enable the work to proceed as efficiently as possible, we ask that you refrain from parking along this section of roadway during construction and ask that you park your vehicle(s) on your driveway or on an adjacent street.  Caution to be taken when driving on oiled areas to avoid tracking oil onto private driveway.  If you require extra assistance, or need to let us know of a particular consideration, please contact Public Works at 250-598-4501.
