Oak Bay, B.C. – Mayor Kevin Murdoch and Oak Bay Council are pleased to share that following a robust executive search process, Michelle Hunt has been hired as the District’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) effective October 9, 2025.
A Chartered Professional Accountant and accomplished senior leader, Ms. Hunt brings over 30 years of experience across private and public sectors, including 14 years in the municipal sector where she has held progressively senior management roles, most recently as the Deputy CAO for the City of Coquitlam.
“With her strong background in municipal operations, finance, and governance, Ms. Hunt is well-positioned to support Council in delivering on its priorities,” said Mayor Kevin Murdoch. “Her experience working with Council, staff and community will help ensure Oak Bay will be able to meet the challenges and opportunities in the years ahead.”
Prior to serving as the Deputy CAO, Ms. Hunt managed several portfolios at the City of Coquitlam including Finance, Technology, Police Services, Park Planning and Design and Corporate Planning. Her expertise spans Council and staff relations, Indigenous relations, financial management, strategic and business planning, and capital project delivery, making her a trusted advisor and impactful leader in municipal government. Ms. Hunt also has personal connections to Oak Bay through her family and looks forward to being a valued part of this community.
