Oak Bay, B.C. – Oak Bay Mayor Kevin Murdoch announced today that the District of Oak Bay will be seeking a new Chief Administrative Officer following current Chief Administrative Officer Selina William’s retirement at the end of July.
Ms. Williams served the District as Chief Administrative Officer for three years, after previously serving as the Director of Corporate Services.
“Council wishes to extend their appreciation for the years Ms. Williams has spent serving Oak Bay,” said Mayor Kevin Murdoch. “Selina brought a strong knowledge in governance to her roles and has navigated challenging periods that included the COVID-19 pandemic, a CAO transition, First Nations relationship-building, major projects, housing, and provincial government relations.”
“It has been an honour to serve Council and this community,” said CAO Williams. “It has also been a privilege to lead, and learn from, the extraordinary and dedicated professionals in Oak Bay. Success in my time here is a reflection of the leadership, passion, and commitment to continuous improvement within the whole team.”
The District appreciates the contributions that Ms. Williams has made to the community of Oak Bay and wish her the very best in her future adventures.
The search for Ms. William’s replacement is already underway with the assistance of an outside recruiter. Council expects considerable interest in the position, as Oak Bay is an employer of choice, Greater Victoria is a desirable location, and there is an excellent leadership team in place within the District.
