The scenic streets of Oak Bay don't stay that way by accident! As an Equipment Operator II, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and charm of Oak Bay. In this position, you’ll operate a waste collection vehicle, safely navigating residential routes to collect refuse and recyclables. The Equipment Operator II position encompasses a variety of work which includes the operation and basic daily maintenance of heavy equipment. The primary role of this Operator is to operate a waste collection vehicle and transport materials to the landfill, transfer station or processing facility. This role may also perform leaf pick-up, street sweeping, or operate a tandem or single axle truck.

Our ideal candidate has some high school education, one year of related experience and a BC Class 3 Driver’s License with an air brake endorsement. This position is represented by CUPE Local 374.
