Regular Full-Time ($103,812.80 - $119,064.40 annually – 2024 Rates)

Join Team Oak Bay in the exciting, newly created role of Manager of Procurement. This is a unique opportunity to lead the District's purchasing function, directly impacting our ability to secure optimal value and mitigate risk. You'll take ownership of all procurement activities, from developing key policies and overseeing tenders to driving cost-reduction initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Financial Services and Asset Management, the Manager of Procurement oversees and manages the District’s procurement function, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, bylaws, trade agreements and other legislation. This position ensures the District receives the best value possible for its goods and service purchases and dispositions and minimizes procurement risk.

Our ideal candidate has a Diploma or a Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline, certification as a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), a Public Sector Procurement Program (PSPP) Certificate, or other related formal procurement designation/training, plus a minimum of five (5) years’ of recent experience in public procurement at a senior level including designing, developing, and implementing best practice sourcing and leading complex procurement projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and a Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License are also required.
