Background
Council approved the original Active Transportation Strategy (ATS) in 2011 with an update approved in March 2024. This updated plan had a focus on technical review and alignment with BC Active Transportation Design Guidelines.
Further community engagement took place in 2025 to refine the ATS, along with a new Cycling Implementation Plan, so they meet local needs and perspectives. Work continues in 2026 with staff working feedback into the ATS and Cycling Implementation Plan with community engagement planned for the nine routes.
