Oak Bay Heritage Volunteer Opportunities

The Oak Bay Heritage Commission is made up of community volunteers. Information on this and other Committees, as well as how you to apply can be found on the Committees page. From time to time Heritage Oak Bay needs volunteers to work on sub-committees of the Oak Bay Heritage Foundation or the Oak Bay Heritage Commission. Preferably, volunteers will have a strong background in heritage, are heritage home owners, or have specialized knowledge in an area such as committee work and community consultation, architecture, or construction and contracting.

Volunteers work on sub-committees or working groups to carry out the mandate of the Foundation or Commission, including occasionally taking part in community awareness projects.

Each fall Oak Bay Heritage presents a series of lectures relating to the cultural, aboriginal, and built history of Oak Bay, or topics related to heritage home ownership. Volunteers help define the topics, arrange for lecturers, and organize the lecture series.

In addition, artists who are skilled in pen and ink architectural drawing are invited to contact the Commission about capturing one of our Designated homes on paper.
