Tennis has enjoyed popularity in Oak Bay since the beginning of the century.  There are numerous outdoor tennis courts, lit outdoor courts, indoor courts and even a private tennis club in Oak Bay to meet the many requirements of local tennis players.

The courts are booked on a reservation system (for a fee) from April to October, although first-come first-served is available if courts are open. Contact the tennis bookings line (250-598-2665) or Henderson Recreation Center directly (250-370-7200) for bookings up to 4 days in advance.

Outdoor Courts

Windsor Park

Windsor Park (courts located at the corner of Transit and Currie) offers three finished courts as well as a practice wall. Courts are free and open to the public on a first-come first-served basis. 

Carnarvon Park

Carnavon Park (courts located at the corner of Henderson and Townley) offers five finished courts and a practice wall, which are free and open to the public on a first-come first-served basis.

Henderson Recreation Centre 

Henderson Recreation Centre (courts located near the entrance of 2291 Cedar Hill X Road) offers 6 finished tennis courts with tree surround. Three courts have overhead lighting.

Indoor Courts

Oak Bay Recreation Centre

Located at 1975 Bee Street, (court entrances located at  back of main building) has seven indoor courts for all-weather playing. Reservations can be made through Recreation Oak Bay or by calling the tennis supervisor at 250-598-2665 for bookings up to four (4) days in advance.

Private Tennis Club

The Oak Bay Tennis Club, Located at 2506 Bowker Avenue, is a private tennis club established in 1911 as the BC Electric and Railway Company Tennis Club.
