District of Oak Bay encourages residents to sign-up for emergency notification system

This Emergency Preparedness Week, make sure you are prepared by signing up for the District of Oak Bay’s emergency notification system, Alertable.

In the case of a public safety incident, the District’s free alerting service will be used to deliver critical and potentially life-saving alerts to residents who have registered. This information can help you and your family know what to do, where to go, and what to expect.

The local emergency program public alert system is optional, and you will only receive notifications if you sign up for this service. These notification systems will send alerts for public safety incidents such as earthquakes, wildfires, tsunami alerts or evacuation notices. On occasion you may receive a test notification to validate the system. Residents of Oak Bay are encouraged to sign-up to receive community-specific emergency alerts by phone, text, or email.
