Weekly Media Release for Monday, Aug 18, 2014 to Sunday, August 24, 2014.
Over the past week, Oak Bay Fire Department members responded to 25 calls for assistance.
These calls for assistance include:

15 – Medical First Responder Requests
6 – Commercial / Residential Alarm Activations
1 – Police Assist
1 – Motor Vehicle Incident
1 – Small Wildland Fire
1 – Beach Fire

Did you know that the Alarm Recycle program provides an opportunity for Oak Bay residents to recycle their used or expired smoke, carbon monoxide or combination carbon and smoke alarms?  The program was developed in response to the requirements of the BC Recycling Regulation and it is free to drop-off the alarms at a collection site.  A reminder to all residents, that all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms should be replaced every 10 years.  Thank you again for helping the community of Oak Bay to do their part to protect the environment!
