Over the past week, Oak Bay Fire Department members responded to 24 calls for assistance.
These calls for assistance include:

14 – Medical First Responder Requests
3 – Commercial / Residential Alarm Activations
3– Public Assistance
2 – Overhead Wires Down
1 – Natural Gas Incident
1 – Motor Vehicle Incident

How to Increase Driving Visibility in Rain

1. Apply a coat of rain repellent to your windshield to improve your visibility in the rain, especially at night.
2. Replace your windshield wipers at least once a year to improve visibility in rain.
3. Check your headlights for brightness.
4. Look at your headlight lenses.
5. Use low-beam headlights in the rain to improve your visibility and to ensure that others are able to see your car.
6. Adjust your side and rear-view mirrors.
7. Slow down while you are driving.
8. Turn your emergency flashers on to alert others and get to a safe place when visibility is poor.
9. Stay in the right lane.
