HELP US SOUND THE ALARM THAT WORKING SMOKE ALARMS SAVE LIVES!

Did you know that many people don’t test their smoke alarms as often as they should?  When there is fire, smoke spreads fast.  You need working smoke alarms to give you time to get out.  Test yours every month!

What to do when the smoke alarm sounds.

• Make sure everyone in the home knows the sound and understands what to do when they hear the smoke alarm.
• Some people, especially children and older adults, may need help to wake up.  Make sure someone will wake them if a smoke alarm sounds.
• If the smoke alarm sounds, get outside and stay outside.  Go to your outside meeting place.
• Call the fire department from outside the home.
