The Oak Bay Fire Department is pleased to announce Assistant Chief Darren Hughes will be promoted to the rank of Deputy Fire Chief effective May 1, 2016.   Assistant Chief Hughes will assume his new role from retiring Deputy Fire Chief Tom Pearse who is leaving the department April 30, 2016 after 28 years of service to the community.  Assistant Chief Darren Hughes has been with the Oak Bay Fire Department for 24 years starting as a probationer Fire Fighter and working diligently to prepare himself through experience and education for his new role as Deputy Fire Chief.  Please join the department in welcoming Assistant Chief Darren Hughes to his new role.
