Oak Bay Arts & Culture Days
During August, Oak Bay Parks, Recreation & Culture is again hosting an array of community events to celebrate arts and culture. This years’ Arts and Culture Days will see 12 events take place over a three week span from August 8 to 29 with a number of fun new events and community partnerships.
There are three new additions to the line-up, including StoryWalks installed along the wood chip walking trail at Henderson Recreation Centre (August 12-16), a free community dance party (August 18) and a community picnic featuring entertainment by the Monterey Concert Band (August 29).
“This year we’re excited to be hosting these new events to make Arts and Culture Days a truly multigenerational celebration. We are inviting all ages to take part in our events and they are all free of charge. We are also excited to be partnering with the Intercultural Association of Greater Victoria and
displaying their ‘I’ve not always been Canadian’ photo exhibition with immigrant stories at Municipal Hall” said Acting Arts and Culture Programmer, Karen Manders.
2019 is the fifth year that arts and culture events have been featured during the summer in Oak Bay.
All events are free (registration is required for some events).
