Bugs Abound at the Garry Oak Café
Beach Drive grassy field at the entrance to Cattle Point in Uplands Park
Did you know that Garry Oak trees are like a favourite cafe to more than 800 types of insects? Join Friends of Uplands Park naturalist, Stephanie Weinstein, and UVic entomologist, Steve Perlman, to catch bugs and explore the Garry Oak ecosystems of Uplands Park, one of the oldest “restaurants” in Victoria. Bring your family, have fun using our equipment and make a crafty insect to take home. Bring a picnic to enjoy at noon. All ages. Donations appreciated.
