‘I’ve not always been Canadian’ Display by the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria
As part of Oak Bay Arts & Culture Days, the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria has set up their ‘I’ve not always been Canadian’ display, which will be in the Oak Bay Municipal Hall foyer until Friday, August 28th.
The travelling exhibit invited both newcomers and established immigrants/refugees to share their stories of what it means to belong and to fully embrace a Canadian identity. This project was facilitated by Artistic Director and Storyteller Lina de Guevara with photo-journalism by Quinton Gordon. As part of Canada’s 150 year celebrations, their goal was to facilitate a deeper understanding of our community’s cultural, ethnic and religious diversity.
