2019 Citizen Budget - Have Your Say!
The Citizen Budget is a fun and unique way for residents to provide feedback on the District’s annual budget process. By using the budget simulator, residents can determine if they would like Council to consider spending more on certain municipal services, or less, or to maintain spending levels. And through this exercise, residents can also see how their priorities and recommended changes could impact property taxes. This is our second year of offering Citizen Budget to residents. A report of the findings will come to Council later this spring and will serve as one of many pieces of information that will help inform the District’s annual budget.
The Citizen Budget website will be open from Friday, February 15 - Friday, March 15, 2019. Residents can access the survey online, or come in to the Oak Bay Municipal Hall, located at 2167 Oak Bay Avenue, to pick up a paper copy. You will need your 2018 assessed property value available from BC Assessment, or you can use the 2018 average assessed value of $1,333,000.
If you are having difficulties accessing the site, please contact District staff at 250-598-3311 for assistance. More information can be accessed from our Frequently Asked Questions document.
