UPLANDS COMBINED SEWER SEPARATION PROJECT UPDATE

During discussions on the Uplands Combined Sewer Separation Project, questions arose regarding what if any application trenchless techonology could have for the project. In response, David O’Sullivan, Past President of the North American Society of Trenchless Technology and President of PW Trenchless Construction Inc. will be attedning the Committee of the Whole on May 16, 2016 to provide an information presentation on trenchless technology.

Mr. O’Sullivan’s presentation will familiarize the Committee and Public with various methods of trenchless construction with particular attention on Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). HDD methodologies and limitations will be explored with explanations on alignment, entrance and exit slopes, the ability to maintain grade, the constraints posed by soil conditions and availability of local contractors.

The Committee and Public will have an opportunity to ask questions afterwards.

The meeting starts at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers at the Municipal Hall (2167 Oak Bay Avenue).
