Often described as a musical prodigy\, at 16 years old\, he is already a seasoned performer\, skilled multi-instrumentalist\, singer and songwriter. \nRecently returning from Montreal where he performed in four Private Showcases at The Folk Alliance International Conference\, Malakai has released his first EP\, Malakai – Live at the Duncan Showroom. Malakai is currently writing his debut concept album which promises to be a solo performed\, self-produced and self-recorded premiere. \nMeet Oak Bay artists Jennifer McIntyre and Flo-Elle Watson who created the piano artwork Kelp Forest. \nPlease bring your own lawn chair and umbrella.\nIn the case of pouring rain\, the concert may be rescheduled.

DESCRIPTION:Pop-Up Outdoor Piano Concert\nLocation: Oak Bay Marina/Turkey Head\nDate: Saturday\, August 30\nTime: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. \nJoin Oak Bay Parks\, Recreation and Culture for a free pop-up outdoor piano concert with Brooke Maxwell! \nBrooke Maxwell is a freelance musician based in Victoria\, BC\, Canada. He is also a sound designer\, composer\, arranger\, and the co-creator of the acclaimed Ride the Cyclone. He recently produced the cast album for RTC\, which is now available through Warner Brothers on all major streaming services. He currently performs around the island with the Beautiful Maladies\, The Chuckleberries\, Wild Honey Pie and at his regular home base\, Pagliacci’s. \nAdditionally\, meet the young visual artists from the Oak Bay Parks\, Recreation and Culture Summer Art Camps who created Symphony of Oaks\, the new evolving art piano next to the shoreline. Visit the piano each week to watch the artwork progress as the summer continues on. \nPlease bring your own lawn chair and umbrella.\nIn the case of pouring rain\, the concert may be rescheduled.
